WebSphere Application Server Version 7.0 Performance Highlights
We recently announced WebSphere Application Server V7.0. Over the next week, I will be sharing some of the performance highlights of our teams' work improving existing usage scenarios as well as performance grooving of new V7.0 features. Here are some of the areas I plan to discuss. Let me know if you'd like to see other areas and I'll work to include them as well.
Andrew,
ReplyDeleteAny updates on WAS 7 performance? Thanks..
Would like to ORB scalability characteristics on 64 bit architectures with large JVM heaps >= 8G.
ReplyDeleteAnonymous (who asked about Any updates on WAS V7 performance),
ReplyDeletePlease see the posts on web services, ejb 3.0/jpa, and 64-bit.
I plan to post a few more topics, but took some time off for vacation this week. Stay tuned.

I am just now downloading WebSphere Application Server ND Version 7.0 and will be installing a proof of concept on 64 bit Linux. I am particurlary interested in learning more about the job manager and custom console modules and portlets.
ReplyDeleteWe are currently running 6.1.0.17 and 6.1.0.21.
To claqueur,
ReplyDeleteFor job manager details you can visit WebSphere V7 Infocenter. We have recently published an article on IBM developerworks discussing various topology options in WebSphere V7, one of which is job manager based flexible management topology. The article is part of WebSphere V7 system administration series and is titled New administrative topologies.
Hope this helps.
There is also a tutorial available on the job manager http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/websphere/techjournal/0903_khalil/
